Israel is the only Jewish country in the world. It is surrounded by Arab countries which are its worse enemy. Despite being located in an unstable area, Israel is the most preferable destination for the investors. It has its silicon wadi. wadi is an Arabic word for Valley. Though 31 countries of the world do not recognize Israel, it ranks 21st in the world by gross domestic product per capita. For years Israel is dealing brutally with Palestinians. Israel Army is bombarding the Gaza strip, killing thousands of Palestinians. Jewish settlements in the West Bank are declared illegal by the United Nations, still, no action has been taken against Israel. In 1967 Israel bombarded an American spy ship USS liberty in the east Mediterranean. the combined air and sea attack killed 34 crew members wounded 171 crew members and severely damaged the ship. Despite being a superpower America neither account for the incident nor took any revenge.

Some experts say that the current superpower America is under the influence of Israel. Why is that? why several Arab countries combined not able to fight with a newly born state.

Is Israel that powerful? let’s look at it.

Geographical Location Of Isreal:

The real reason why Israel is so controversial is because of Jerusalem. Jerusalem is a sacred city for all the Abrahamic religions Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Israel shares its border with Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria. All these countries are Muslim. Israel had to fight many wars with its neighboring countries since its independence. In 1948 Israel got its independence and Land which was previously known as Palestine was divided into half. Half of the land was allocated for the Newly Jewish state, while the other half was for the Arab Muslims. Control of the west bank was assigned to Syria, while Egypt was handed over the control of the Gaza strip. Jerusalem was declared an international zone. Before the division of Palestine, this place was a Muslim majority country. Jews moved to this area during world war 2. Muslim countries tried to take this land back from Israel, but they failed and ended up losing more land in the hands of Israel.

After capturing Jerusalem, Israel declared Jerusalem as its capital. This act of Israel made its neighbors more furious than ever. The major problem for Israel is that area of the west bank and the Gaza strip are Muslim majority. After the Six-days war, Israel was able to capture the whole Palestine, but the Muslim majority in the west bank and Gaza started an uprising against the Israeli forces which is known as the Intifada. Israel had to give up its control on the Gaza strip and some parts of the west bank, control fell in the hands of the Palestinian liberation organization. After that Israel understood that to capture the whole Palestine it needs to eliminate the majority of Muslims. For that Israel started ethnic cleansing. Jewish settlements were made in the area of the west bank. Jews from all over Israel were encouraged by the Israeli government to migrate to settlements in the west bank. United Nations denounced the act of Jewish settlements in the West bank.

Once the Population of Jews outnumbered Muslims in the west bank, it won’t be difficult for Israel to annex the west bank.

Economy

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Israel was worth 395.10 billion US dollars in 2019. it holds 21st position in the world as per GDP per capita. Billionaires like Warren Buffet and Bill gates call Israel as Heaven for investors. Rich Jew families Rothchilds, Rockefellers, Goldsmith support Israel financially. Israel is self-sufficient in the agriculture sector, despite the shortage of water in Israel.

The most important sector in which Israel is unmatchable is R and D Research and development. In NASDAQ, Israel has the most number of companies after China. Japan, India, Germany, UK, South Korea combined cannot compete with Israel in NASDAQ. Israel is also called the Silicon Valley of the middle east. When it comes to tech innovation startups Israel is unrivaled. All the tech giants have their R and D centers in Israel. Israel spends 4.5% of its GDP in the Innovation sector. Microsoft, Motorola, Cisco, Voice over Internet Protocol VOIP, antivirus, communications router, voicemail technology were all developed by Israeli Engineers. Israel took great advantage of its small size. Due to fewer population and small market size, startups in Israel target world audiences as they cannot sell their product in their own country. This developed a global mindset. Israel is not interested in manufacturing rather they invest in research and development. Israel’s success in technological advancement is based on four steps. first, they identify the problem which the rest of the world is not able to solve. second, they invest in R and d centers, laboratories and motivate their engineers and technically smart people to find a solution to the problem. After finding the solution, then comes the TTO tech transfer organization. TTO contacts business firms from all Israel and brief them about the product or solution. These business firms buy the patent and sell the product in the world. The secret recipe of Israel to conquer the tech world is that they assign tasks only to specialists. if a person is good in research he will only have to find the solution to a problem. After finding the solution he will hand it over to tech transfer organizations. TTO’s have specialists in marketing. They will take his product to the commercial level and sell it for him.

Why Does America support Israel?

During the cold war, Both the soviet union and the united states were in a race to conquer the world with its ideology. The United States established closer ties with Israel during the cold war. In the middle East, America found no better option than Israel. Israel is the only non-muslim country in the middle east with democracy and strong anti-communist leanings. The US wants Israel as a partner for intelligence and military operations. For that purpose, it was in the best interest of the United States to make Israel as strong and stable as possible. After the fall of the USSR, the United States want Israel to be strong to deal with Al Qaeda and ISIS in the middle east. Moreover, several rich Jewish families in America are forcing America to support Israel.
