FIR against Nawaz Sharif! An FIR has been lodged against the Former 3 times Prime Minister of Pakistan and Current PML-N Leader Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The FIR was lodged in Shahdara Police station, a locality near Lahore on the banks of river Ravi. The complaint was filed for ‘conspiring’ against the country and state institutions.
FIR against Nawaz Sharif
The FIR also nominate other famous Political tycoons of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, Namely, Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sanaullah, Ahsan Iqbal, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Pervez Rashid, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Ataullah Tarar and others that participated in the PML-N’s Central Executive Committee and Central Working Committee meetings held last week.
The case was registered on the request of a citizen, Badar Rasheed, under Section 10 (cyberterrorism) of the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (2016), and sections 120-A (definition of criminal conspiracy), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 121-A (conspiracy to wage war against Pakistan), 123-A (condemning the creation of the country and advocating the abolishment of its sovereignty), 124-A (sedition) and 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
It was mentioned by the complainant that Nawaz Sharif is undergoing court trial for several corruption allegations and was given bail on medical grounds by the Honorable Lahore High Court. “Instead of availing medical treatment in London, Nawaz is carrying out a planned conspiracy to defame the country and its institutions by making inflammatory speeches,” says the FIR.

He also accused the former prime minister that he is playing in the hands of Indian Lobby as his point of view is no different from Indian Propaganda Machines such as Major Gaurav. It also states that this puts Pakistan’s position at Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) in a bad light and hinders the chances of Pakistan to exit ‘grey list’.
“The main purpose of Nawaz’s speeches is to isolate Pakistan in front of the international community and to declare it a rogue state,” the complaint says. It adds that Nawaz is trying to turn the people against the democratically elected government.
The aim of the speeches is also to divert attention from human rights violations in occupied Kashmir to benefit Nawaz’s “friend” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the complainant says.
Petition To ban NS at LHC
In the meantime, another citizen approached Lahore High Court to ban Nawaz Sharif from giving speeches on media. The application was dismissed by the Respected Jury members quoting: “The tendency of invoking the constitutional jurisdiction of a High Court in matters involving political content is certainly not in the public interest and that too when the law provides for alternate remedies.”
The petition to the LHC was lodged on the grounds that Ex-PM was allowed to exit the state on medical grounds but instead of focusing on his health, he is constantly involved in politics and in a smear campaign against state institutions.
FIR against Nawaz Sharif is Political Victimization
This move by the citizen was not appreciated by the Political giants. PMLN politician Zafar Iqbal condemned the FIR with these words “Registering treason cases against politicians cannot hide the ineptitude of the government. Instead of addressing unemployment, inflation, and poverty, the government is using state machinery to suppress the opposition.”
The PMLN Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb took to the official twitter handle of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz to condemn the registration of the case against NS. She said it is proof of fact that the “selected” government was “panicking”.
The discussion was followed with a series of tweets by PML-N official account to condemn Government policies and political victimization
“Voices fighting for the truth and for the rights [of the people] can’t be suppressed by such false and baseless cases.” She added that political opponents, the media, and those fighting for human rights and democracy were now being labelled as “traitors”.
PMLN Leaders Reaction on FIR against Nawaz Sharif.
The PML-N leader and former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said while talking to reporters: “another black mark in the fictional history books of Pakistan”, adding that it had a “unique position among allegations of treason” in the history of the country.
He said that federal ministers are taking the cover of Badar Rasheed to do their heinous activities, they should use their own name for lodging FIR against Nawaz Sharif.
Abbasi severely condemned the PTI government for its lack of performance. He said that No minister has talked about the current situation going in our country, inflation, sugar, wheat, unemployment, and corruption. According to Abbasi, these are black tactics that would not do any harm to PMLN, but it is time for Imran Khan and his government to show performance. We are here. If you have courage, then arrest us and pursue cases [against us].
PML-N secretary general Ahsan Iqbal said that the government’s “incompetency” could not be hidden by declaring PML-N leaders as traitors.
“The government is trying to hide its incompetency by trying to fool people into thinking we are traitors,” he alleged.
“Today, the people who built Pakistan increased electricity generation, negotiated CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) […] lifted the economy are traitors and people who brought the growth of the economy in negative are patriotic.”
Iqbal said that the complainant alleged PML-N wanted to build a narrative against state institutions so that the real issue is sidelined which is Kashmir Issue. He said that but it is Naya Pakistan in which India got the courage to revoke the special status of Kashmir.
“Either you have made Pakistan so weak [that India got the courage to revoke the status] or you have made a bargain and people want to know. But whoever asks this question is deemed a traitor. If asking questions about inflation, unemployment […] and the government’s failed foreign policy is treason, then we are not ashamed but proud of it,” he said.
“I want to tell PTI to ask your interior minister to register FIR under his own name,” he added.
