Man set on fire. Yesterday, In Daska a man capitulated to his burn injuries after he was set to fire by 3 of his friends over a minor issue.

The resident of the Bhilo Mahar area, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad was traveling with his better-half and mother in law. As soon as they reached a locality known as Gadhpur, his brother in law caught his attention as he was having a heated argument with his friends Muneeb, Hamza, and Mani in a harsh language. According to eyewitnesses of the incident, the suspected individuals filled a bottle with petrol from there bike, Showered Yasir with the flammable oil, and then lit him up with fire.

In a struggle to survive from fire, Yasir hopped into a nearby Well so that he can put out the fire. Rescue 1122 arrived at the crime scene to save Yasir, as he was inflicted with critical burn injuries, he was shifted to a nearby emergency hospital in Sialkot. He was fighting for his life in the hospital, but his condition worsened with the tick of the clock, so he was immediately referred to be moved to Lahore for further treatment.

Shifting to Lahore did not bring any changes to his condition, he was not able to fight more and laid his arms, died on Friday due to severe burns. Yasir’s brother in law Ahmad, who was a witness to this heinous crime, filed a complaint against the three suspects in a local Police station. An FIR has been registered according to the police. The father of Yasir is a cab driver in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Yasir had a close friendship with the three nominated suspects in FIR. All of them usually went for any outing together, it was their normal routine to visit the famous Shrine of Imam Sahib in Sialkot on every Thursday. Similarly, on this Thursday, he forethought to tour the Shrine of Imam Sahib, Sialkot on his motorbike.  To carry forward the idea he invited his friends to accompany him, but an argument burst among them which resulted in this incident.

In the heat of debate, Yasir lost his control and in fury, he filled a bottle with petrol from his bike.

The man set on fire!. Yasir got drained with petrol after his friend Muneeb grabbed the bottle of petrol from Yasir and thrown it upon him. An accomplice to this Crime, Hamza lighted a matchstick and threw that towards Yasir which put him to fire. Yasir found himself completely immersed in the fire, due to highly flammable fuel. He ran and jumped in an attempt to save his life. In a fight to save himself, he tried to roll himself on mud to put out the fire but to no success. He was already badly burned when he jumped into a tube-well to extinguish the fire.

The police authorities involved in the investigation of this case are yet not able to bring any of the suspects behind the bar.

A man set on fire!. Many similar cases came to light in the recent past from Tehsil Daska. Shazia who belonged to Narowal District and Kartarpur Tehsil, Zafarwal. She was married to Rana Firdous of Pasrur 16 years ago. Only After few days from their marriage, her in-laws tormented her.

On the 28th of September, Shazia was set on fire by her in-laws. The incident was reported by the locals of society to the police.

Shazia was later taken to a healthcare center in Narowal district and then shifted to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore by her in-laws where She was not able to fight for her life and died due to critical burn injuries. She was a mother of five children. Police immediately acted in Shazia’s case and arrested two suspects out of four nominated in FIR. The one suspect arrested was her husband but unfortunately, her father and mother-in-law escaped from the crime scene.

There are no effective burn hospitals in these four areas: Daska, Sambarial, Sialkot, and Pasrur. For this reason, any burn victim of these areas is usually shifted to Lahore for treatment.
